"On this path, which I first started off with the desire to be liked by others, currently I'm discovering what is to be a human every day and I am grateful for it.."
Hello, I'm Mert!
I received acting training, mostly on Meisner and Morris methods, with many instructors in Los Angeles, Amsterdam and Istanbul. I have lived in 5 countries so far and working with trainers from different countries gives me a universal perspective on this profession. Apart from my native language, Turkish, I speak English, Spanish and Italian. I completed my undergraduate education at Koç University, Department of Media and Visual Arts.
My passion for cinema and movies started when I was a child and saved my school fees to buy movies. When I was 16, I took the first step towards my dreams and moved to Istanbul. Since I did not wait for opportunities to come my way, I started to train myself as a writer and director during my university years and started producing short films that I sent to international festivals. Since acting is an ongoing process, I attend certain workshops every year and follow certain weekly routines to improve my instrument. I continue to develop the scripts of my mini-series and feature film projects that I want to make it happen in the next 5 years. I am grateful that this whole process continues to teach me how to be human as well as technical subjects, and I will continue my education in a curious way until the end of my life.

“Since I was six years old, I had a crazy passion for drawing the shapes of objects. By the time I was fifty, I had painted countless paintings; But I don't consider anything I did before the age of seventy as painting. At the age of seventy-three I learned a little about the true nature of nature, of animals, plants, birds, fish and insects. As a result, I will be more advanced when I am eighty; At ninety I will be able to reach the secret of things; When I am one hundred years old, I will undoubtedly have reached an extraordinary stage; "When I am one hundred and ten years old, everything I do, whether it is a dot or a line, will be alive."
